Live and Installed Sound
JBL Audio Engineering for Sound Reinforcement (John Eargle and Chris Foreman)
The 29-chapter book falls into four broad sections. Section One "Fundamentals" discusses the basics of acoustics, psycho-acoustics, electrical concepts and digital processing. Section Two, "System Components" is concerned with the equipment used, including microphones, consoles, amplifiers, signal processing and loudspeakers. Sound System Engineering 3rd ed. (Don Davis and Eugene Patronis)
The 3rd edition of classical "yellow book" by the founders of SynAudCon. "Explains how to predict accurately such variables as acoustic gain, speech intelligibility, and the required electrical input power while the plans are still on the drawing board." Very mathematically oriented. Find the second edition by Don and Carolyn Davis on the following links for UK and the USA.
