Each Imperio Pro IMP205 array element measures 12.8" x 7.3" x 8.8" (324mm x 184.8mm x 224mm) – the same as the original Imperio – and houses a pair of 5” neodymium low-mid transducers alongside six 1.75” IDVAT (Inverted Dome Vertical Array Technology) high frequency drivers. This configuration allows the unit to deliver a broad frequency response of 100Hz – 20KHz with a nominal horizontal dispersion angle of 100⁰.
The unit’s internal Class D 2-way amplifier has a PFC switching power supply and is rated at 440W RMS (1700W peak) – increased from 240W RMS on the original model – which allows it to deliver a nominal maximum peak output of 128dB (single box measured on axis @ 1m). A 32-bit DSP with FIR digital filtering is also packed into the compact cabinet, which has been calibrated to offer eight selectable configuration settings. There is also an Input Sensitivity Dial as well as LED indicators for Power and Signal/Clip. Both XLR audio and locking power input and output sockets are provided.
Boasting an ABS plastic construction, finished with a powder-coated steel grille, the Imperio Pro IMP205 weighs 12.5 lbs. (6.3 kg.), less than the original Imperio model.
Integrated rigging hardware makes joining together multiple Imperio Pro IMP205 array elements quick and easy. They can be joined with a choice of seven different splay angles (0, 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 & 12-degrees) and, using accessories sold separately, can be pole-mounted, ground-stacked or flown. Properly flown arrays, combined with an appropriate configuration of subs, will provide coverage for both indoor and outdoor concerts with an audience of up to 3000 people.
The Avante Audio Imperio Pro IMP205 is available in the Americas now and will be available in Europe from late January 2023.
