• Lynx Pro Audio expands its CPS family of point source systems

    CPS-4, CPS-5, CPS-210 and CPS-14 from Lynx ProAudio

Lynx Pro Audio has announced the expansion of its CPS series, a range of point source systems with coaxial transducers designed for medium-sized events and fixed installations.

The brand launched the CPS-214 (double 14") enclosure at the 2023 edition of the ISE show, and this year has presented the extension of the series with two new full-range point source enclosures, the CPS-210 and the CPS-14, both with active and passive versions. The series is rounded off with two ultra-compact passive enclosures.

Recently added to the catalog, both the CPS-210 and the CPS-14 allow a choice of 90ºx60º or 60ºx40º coverage models. Both speakers, designed for medium-sized events and large fixed installations, feature integrated 64-bit / 96 KHz DSP with FIR linear phase filtering.

    The CPS-210 enclosure is a compact 3-way tri-amplified 3000 W system. It features 2 x 10" neodymium loudspeakers and a 1.4" coaxial compression driver. The CPS-14 enclosure is also a 3000 W tri-amplified 3-way system, but features a single 14" neodymium loudspeaker.

Active versions use an integrated DSP, an in-house from Lynx. To handle the basic adjustment options of the internal DSP, the enclosure features a rear panel with a 2.8" IPS display and a joystick knob that allows the user to control, select and adjust different parameters such as gain, delay, input EQ and presets. These models also have two Ethernet ports that allow them to be controlled through the OCS platform for easier monitoring and control. The systems can also be simulated with the Rainbow 3D electro-acoustic prediction software.

According to Jesús Fuentes, Lynx Pro Audio product manager, "The idea is for the CPS series to become a large family of coaxial point source loudspeakers with different power ratings to cover a wide variety of setups and needs".

The series is completed by two ultra-compact passive enclosures, the CPS-5 and CPS-4. These petite systems are easy to mount and transport, are designed to deliver clear, balanced sound in short-throw applications, according to the manufacturer, and are suitable for indoor installations and background sound reinforcement.

The CPS-5 has a 5" coaxial loudspeaker and 70° conical dispersion, while the CPS-4 has a 4" coaxial loudspeaker and 90° conical dispersion.

All CPS models are shipping now.
